On Wednesday 25th February, a group of students were chosen to visit the Xemxija Hill. This visit makes part of the Dinja Waħda project in which its aim is to increase awareness of the local environment that surround us. The students had the opportunity to walk among different trees, plants and flowers that are found in this area. They had the opportunity to enjoy the view of Buġibba and Qawra underneath. There was a particular cave in which people used to live during the Second World War. There was another room in which many years ago, people used to make honey. We also came across a large amount of ants which were carrying food and hide it in the soil in a particular area.
On Friday 30th January, a group of students were chosen to be part of the Green talk which makes part of the Dinja Waħda project. The aim of this project is to appreciate more the local environment, to protect the natural beauty and to act wisely. During the Green talk, a number of pictures representing different animals and plants which are found locally, were shown. Particular features of each one of them were explained. Students had the opportunity to appreciate specific features of local flora and fauna. During the talk, students had the opportunity to ask questions related to the animals and plants shown.
