Five (5) students from our Resource Centre were selected to support the Women’s National team who played Georgia in a European qualifier. The match was played on a beautiful sunny day on March 3rd, at the local Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali.

Our students were very enthusiastic and held banners as well as the local flag amid chants of “Forza Malta”. The students were accompanied by Mr P Demanuele (PE teacher) and Mr S Cutajar (PSD teacher). For some of the students this was their first ever experience in a football stadium and they enjoyed themselves very much showing keen interest to learn more about the game of football. Luckily, the Malta girls deservedly won this match with a late injury-time goal, much to delight of those present, including many other students from local Primary and Secondary schools.

On a sunny Winter’s day, Thursday January 13th, a group of senior (‘C’ group) students were invited for the ceremony of the 1000th tree being planted at the Salina Natural Park, St. Paul’s Bay, in a project involving several companies, entities and also schools/ education centres. Each of these organisations participated in the National 34U campaign. This campaign is reaping the desired fruit as our environment will look better if greener. Students are also taught that trees supply oxygen and reduce the amount of carbon-dioxide that is harming our planet and causing climate change due to excessive emissions.

Our Resource Centre participated in this event, and the students had the opportunity to plant young trees and also speak to the Minister for Rural Affairs, Hon. Dr. George Pullicino, MP.
